Q: What years did you attend Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹û²éѯ?
A: 2015-2017
Q: How did you end up at Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹û²éѯ?
A: I chose Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹û²éѯ specifically for the technologist program.
Q: How did you choose your program?
A: I wanted to become an engineer. I had heard that a common problem engineers face is not understanding how to design products for the people who are building them. I wanted to gain hands-on experience so I could be a well-rounded design engineer. The ELEN at Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹û²éѯ program was able to do this, while also having the bridge to UBCO engineering.
Q: What did you like most about the program?
A: I liked taking the theoretical knowledge learned in the classroom and applying it in the labs. I also liked how the labs provided so many opportunities to do design.
Q: What was one of your most meaningful memories during your time at Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹û²éѯ?
A: All of my most meaningful memories involve my fellow classmates and professors. I loved how the class sizes were small and you went through the program with the same people and professors for the two years.
Q: What are you doing currently?
A: I am currently a design engineer working at Anodyne Electronics Manufacturing here in Kelowna.
Q: Who gave you the best advice you ever received?
A: My childhood skating coach was always full of good advice. She taught me a lot about perseverance and hard work.
Q: What advice would you give to current or future students?
A: Enjoy every moment of it. Lean on your peers, and don’t be afraid to ask for help.
Q: Where are you the happiest?
A: I am the happiest when I get to be at home spending time with my pets.
Q: What matters most to you right now?
A: Currently, the most important thing to me is nurturing my curiosity and continuing to learn and grow. Both in my career and in my personal life.
Q: Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
A: I hope to see myself as a senior designer. I have really been enjoying how innovative the aerospace and aviation industry is, and I hope I continue to work within it.
