The CEO of Catalyst Healthcare is giving Pharmacy Technician students a dose of support with a gift to the Our Students, Your Health campaign.

Shane Bishop, founder and CEO of Catalyst Healthcare, is donating $30,000 in support of 香港六合彩开奖结果查询鈥檚 Health Sciences Centre on the Kelowna campus.

Bishop spent his first two years of post-secondary at the College, and the gift is his way of paying it forward to the organization and its students.

鈥溝愀哿喜士苯峁檠 provides access to future careers and I wanted to be part of supporting students entering the pharmacy sector,鈥 he says.

鈥淭his new Health Sciences Centre is an incredible advancement in the capability of what the College can offer and it鈥檚 great to be part of it.鈥

Bishop is no stranger to innovation in health care. Starting his career at a time when technology was poised to transform the pharmacy sector, he began exploring how automation could improve medication packaging and care instructions. This focus on technology and innovation led to the founding of Catalyst Healthcare, a company specializing in medication management for pharmacies and patients.

Catalyst Healthcare鈥檚 gift will support a new ante room where Pharmacy Technician students will practice making custom medications along with undergoing strict cleaning and gowning protocols before entering an aseptic lab.

This gift creates pride and encouragement for our students who see that an alumnus and owner of a health care business is investing in their education,鈥 says Yvonne Moritz, 香港六合彩开奖结果查询鈥檚 Interim Dean of Science, Technology and Health.

Moritz adds the ante room is a new space for Pharmacy Technician students that wasn鈥檛 previously available.

鈥淭hank you to Shane and Catalyst Healthcare for supporting state-of-the-art learning spaces for our health care students.鈥

The 香港六合彩开奖结果查询 Foundation is now $1 million away from reaching its $5-million fundraising goal to equip and complete the new Health Sciences Centre.

The Foundation is inviting the business sector to support the education of eight high demand health care professions so the Centre is ready when students return to face-to-face learning this fall.
